Oop's Day At The Fair

Posted by Picasa
Alley Oop had her day at the county fair last week. She did very well when it came to judging, she captured a couple of first place ribbons. Her lamb was in the running for Grand Champion, but just didn't make the grade. She lost out on it due to politics really. Her heart was broken and tears fell. My advise to her was that she should raise a goat or a chicken next year or change her last name to ...........! The same man has judged the lambs for the past three years and the same two girls (sisters) have walked away with Grand Champion. Not to hard to do the math on that one. In any case the sale of her lamb brought her $500. That kind of eased her hurting heart and she will do it all again next year and of course be crushed again. Are we seeing a pattern here or what???

I will give you an up date on how Britt is doing in the next day or two. Until then, I am wishing all a weekend filled with many blessings, much love and more happiness than you know what to do with.

Shall we send a posse to have a discussion with the judge???? From what I can see her lamb is clearly the best! (Not that my knowledge of lambs is very extensive, of course.) Tell her we are proud of her!
I hope Britt is doing ok, Jo - prayers continue. Have a great weekend!

Hi Jo, It's nice to see you posting again, I take it that your PC is working properly again.
While you were out of action as it were I posted you to let you know that I had put your name forward for an award, so please call at my site anytime and copy the award on to your sidebar... the post called 'Blogging Award' was on the 2nd August. I hope Britt is continuing to improve and settle to her condition. Cheers Kate x.

Sorry to hear about the judges be unfair! But she still should be proud to what she has accomplished. I know you are very proud of her.
Better luck next year, and maybe she should go with your advice and have a goat or something else.
Hugs & Blessings,
Love,Stacy

Kind of reminds me of the judges in professional ice skating! Sheesh! They should definitely get a new judge at that country fair!!! Good to hear, though, that Alley Oop did capture a couple of first place ribbons:-) Congratulations to her!! Have a great weekend my friend. xoxo

I have always felt the judging is unfair. It is obvious they have their favorites, but getting $500.00 for the lamb should have definitely made her feel better.

Have a good weekend, Jo.
