Instructions For A Hard Life........

I have a prayer request to send out for Melody's (our daughter-in-law) sister, Mindy. Mindy is 29 years old. She is married and the mother of two sweet girls. Recently she was diagnosed with emphysema. That was quite a blow to all of us. Now they have looked the x-rays over closely and are seeing a couple of places on her lungs that they want to have a closer look at. Melody will be going with her tomorrow to get a CT Scan. If you are so inclined, please send up some prayers for Mindy and the family. If prayer isn't your way, she could sure use a lot of positive energy coming her way. It will probably be a couple of days before she gets the results, but as soon as I hear anything you will be the next in line to know.

J.D.'s family in Louisiana are all safe and sound. His brother told him that they lost their power for a few minutes and had winds of about 35 MPH. Like J.D. pointed out...... we get winds a lot higher than that here on the mountain ridge. Thanks to all for sending up prayers for their safety.

I had a doctors appointment this morning and got a shot of cortisone in my knee and am supposed to have it up for now with ice on it. I will post more about my appointment tomorrow. Right now, I need to hobble to the couch and follow instructions.

Wishing you a day of blessings and happiness.

Prayer for the Sick
"Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the sick, we turn to you in this time of illness. O dearest comforter of the troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden. Dear God, we place our worries in your hands. We place our sick under your care and humbly ask that you restore your servant to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge your will and know that whatever you do, you do for the love of us. Amen."

May your burdens be lighter, dearest Jo. and our understandings patient and deeper.
Love, Nanna

Glad to hear J.D.'s family is safe. We're getting rain and tornado warnings off the remnants of Gustav now, but nothing severe in my area at the moment.

Sorry to hear about Mindy. I'll certainly pray for her, and for you. I hope the shot works for your knee. I had them in mine, and it worked for a couple of days then back to the same old thing. I haven't bothered to have any more shots but hopefully you'll be one of the majority that they help.

Have a good week, Jo.

Love and hugs,

Diane

As far as the cortisone goes...I can only bend my left knee back a bit before it feels like it's going to explode...cortisone...sounds like a wonder drug!

Hi again Jo, You have been mentioning poems, stories etc. which are written anonymously, have you seen Kate's Poem I have posted it once again tonight on my blog - I would be interested to know what you think about it... I think it speaks volumes about how some folk think about 'old folk' - It's quite a moving piece I think and I have loved it and known it all my life.

Blessings over the Pond - Kate x.
