And it's odd that you bring this up because I and a group of my friends had a similar discussion about 'were they still around". My granddaughter informed me that they now have these kid 'dress up' programs on the internet that they do essentially the same thing.
I don't remember having or seeing colored baby chicks (interesting!) but one of the first two jobs that I ever had off the farm was in an egg hatchery. The other was setting pins in a bowling alley. Do I miss those old days? No way! LOL Enjoy your Easter, Jo.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09476201539729843656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3802327201818902009.post-26693721303895214302010-04-01T00:47:35.078-04:002010-04-01T00:47:35.078-04:00My grandsons have introduced me to Max and Ruby. They are so cute. I don't think that I would want to color them though. They are beautiful just the way they are.
Happy Easter Sweetie...farmladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10516462251842458511noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3802327201818902009.post-7455844661932338282010-03-31T15:18:41.653-04:002010-03-31T15:18:41.653-04:00I remember the colored chicks also. When we would go to visit, I would ask Mac which chicken was mine. He would always point to one and say, "that one is yours". Then one day his answer was, "we ate her for Sunday dinner." That was the last time I went to his farm and I never wanted a colored chicken again.
Sue HagamanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3802327201818902009.post-47425488543910347072010-03-31T11:53:04.457-04:002010-03-31T11:53:04.457-04:00Hello,
I'm so glad I stumbled upon your blog....Hello,

I'm so glad I stumbled upon your blog. I relate to your story about Easter chicks; we had bunnies, too.

And, I not only played with paper dolls, I remember tracing around the dolls to make my own clothes for them, adding the paper tabs, coloring with crayons, cutting them out.... Yes, it was hours that we played with paper dolls. What fun it was then and great memories now.

Happy Easter,
Lois in CincinnatiLois Evensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11129343619065721588noreply@blogger.com
